About the role

This position is a member of the Branch Operations team within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role oversees the management of a branch (or branches) within a specific region, focusing on building long-term member relationships by matching member needs to the Credit Union’s product and service solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operation of a full-service Credit Union branch and engage in business development.
  • Maintain communication between the branch and Regional Director regarding operations and productivity.
  • Stay knowledgeable about the Credit Union’s products and services to train and motivate staff in cross-selling.
  • Implement operational, budgeting, marketing, and loan procedures, as well as delinquency and cost control measures.
  • Exercise lending authority to process new loan applications, including interviewing members, analyzing credit reports, and recommending suitable products.
  • Coordinate and participate in "Credit Union Days" to grow business.
  • Recruit, hire, motivate, and train management and support staff.
  • Coach and counsel team members on member service, sales, and performance.
  • Conduct annual employee evaluations and individual coaching sessions.
  • Motivate branch staff to maintain optimal member service levels.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of branch facilities and equipment.
  • Lead branch staff to achieve lending, membership, and product goals.
  • Conduct and review monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual branch operations audits and reports.
  • Represent and promote the Credit Union within the business community.
  • Perform Notary services as required.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account and related information, complying with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related area, or equivalent financial services experience (preferred).
  • Credit Union or bank management experience (preferred).
  • Credit approval authorization, credit union, and finance company experience (preferred).
  • Consumer lending experience (preferred).
  • Staff supervisory experience (preferred).

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience or education.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for unescorted access to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
  • Excellent member service skills.
  • Superior people management, interpersonal, and employee engagement skills, including directing, coaching, counseling, and motivating staff.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, handle conflicting priorities, and manage high-volume project work.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and function as part of a team.
  • Strong collaboration skills with staff and other Credit Union departments.
  • Sound judgment in making recommendations based on gathered and reviewed information.
  • Skills and drive to thrive in a competitive Credit Union sales environment.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, planning, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English (required); Spanish is a plus.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to constant change.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance.
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks.
