Branch Driver I

About the role

Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. The company operates through eight regions under various banner names, including Rexel, Rexel Automation, Gexpro, Mayer, Talley and Platt Electric Supply, with a network of over 460 warehouse storefront locations. The Branch Driver I will join the Platt team in Longview, WA, delivering products to and from customers, branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers using a delivery van or box truck (no CDL required). The driver is responsible for preparing deliveries to meet customer requirements efficiently and ensuring materials are correct and free of damage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects and complete a daily inspection report.
• Keep the vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of any repair or service needs.
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT), local and state driving laws and regulations.
• Load or unload the vehicle, verifying that all material for each order is correct in quantity and type and free of damage before departure.
• Assist in preparing orders for delivery as needed.
• Complete all required documentation at delivery, including obtaining the customer’s signature on the delivery receipt, packing list, and branch/warehouse manifest.
• Pick up material returns from customers, inspect condition, and verify quantities and catalog numbers.
• Pick up material from company suppliers.
• Perform additional branch duties when required, such as counter sales, order preparation and filling, receiving, stocking, staging, shipping material, and maintaining branch equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must attend company driver training (in lieu of prior experience).
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Pass pre‑employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
• Obtain verification of a non‑expired medical certificate within 60 days of hire.
• No suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation in the past 3 years.
• No at‑fault accidents in the past 3 years.
• Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and traffic/driver laws.
• Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and customer‑service skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Pay

For the state of Washington, the pay range is $20.00 to $22.69 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
