Branch Customer Representative
About the role
As a Branch Customer Representative (Member Advocate), you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service at Suncoast Credit Union branch locations. This full-time position focuses on building lasting member relationships through professional, prompt, and accurate financial transactions while maintaining high respect for member confidentiality. The role encourages proactive skill development and growth within the position.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome members, providing excellent service throughout all interactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve members’ financial well-being.
- Present and advise members or prospective members about Suncoast Credit Union financial products and services to meet their needs.
- Answer members’ questions and solve problems regarding their financial needs by listening, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results.
- Conduct teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, transfers, gift cards, traveler’s checks, and money orders.
- Assess membership eligibility by interviewing prospective members.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Suncoast Credit Union products, services, features, and benefits.
- Open deposit accounts and perform account changes, reconciliations, and error resolution.
- Implement credit union policies and procedures for teller transactions.
- Verify deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account balances.
- Obtain proper identification and endorsements, and verify signatures.
- Maintain proper check approval and cash drawer limits.
- Balance cash drawer at the end of the day and maintain accurate teller balancing records.
- Secure negotiable items and confidential records.
- Assist with servicing ATMs, night drop vaults, coin machines, and CDMs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience with a financial institution or similar customer service role (a bachelor’s degree may substitute for work experience).
- General math proficiency to balance cash drawer, audit work, and reconcile accounts.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for professional interaction with members and staff.

Safe Act Statement
This position requires registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS). You will obtain a unique identifier before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities and must maintain and renew this registration annually. Updated registration information must be provided to the registry on a timely basis, and the unique identifier must be shared with consumers as required by applicable SAFE Act regulations and Suncoast Credit Union policies.

Pay
$20.00 hourly with incentive raises earned for learning key skills.
Schedule
Full-time position with shifts based around the following hours of operation:
- Monday through Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
