Brake and Tire Technician
We’re looking for Automotive Mechanics with a minimum of 1 year of professional automotive repair experience to join Carvana—the fastest-growing used automotive retailer in U.S. history and one of the four fastest companies to make the Fortune 500.
About the role
As a Brake & Tire Technician, you’ll perform light maintenance or repairs, including:
- Changing brakes and tires
- Performing routine inspections and maintenance
- Basic mechanical repair for brake pads, calipers, rotors
- Tire installations and wheel alignments
You’ll work in one of our high-tech Inspection Centers using state-of-the-art tools. If you’re joining in an entry-level position, we offer training programs to ensure your skills and pay progress along with the company.
Other Technician Roles
Depending on your experience, we have a variety of Technician roles:
- Entry-Level Auto Technician (min 6 months professional experience): Perform light maintenance, fluid checks, and initial vehicle inspections.
- Brake and Tire Technician (min 1 year professional experience): Perform light maintenance or repairs, including changing brakes and tires.
- Mid-Level (Mechanical Repair / Build / General) Technician (min 3 years professional experience): Perform light to medium automotive repairs and minimal diagnostics.
- Experienced Technician (min 5 years professional experience): Perform extensive repairs, heavy engine work, and advanced diagnostics on all makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
We also offer roles in Auto Body, Lube and Oil, Inspection, and entry-level positions like Detailing and Inventory Associate.
Requirements
- Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools—must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
- At least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Some positions may require a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold).
- Use of safety equipment, including face shields, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective garments.
