Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach
Concord Academy, an independent, all-gender boarding and day school, is seeking a Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach for the 2026 winter season. This is a temporary, part-time position.
About the role
Concord Academy interscholastic teams are members of the Eastern Independent League. The role involves coaching student-athletes in a mission-driven environment that values self-expression, storytelling, and careful listening. We seek applicants who reflect and support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse and equitable school community. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong desire to incorporate inclusive coaching practices and advance the school's mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Boys Varsity Basketball team through the winter season, including tryouts, practices, and matches.
- Instill life skills and values through the challenges of an athletic season.
- Foster an inclusive and equitable team environment aligned with the school’s mission.
Requirements
- Playing and/or coaching experience in basketball.
- Passion for mentoring student-athletes and teaching life skills through sports.
- Commitment to inclusive coaching practices and advancing the school’s mission of diversity and equity.
Schedule
- Winter tryouts begin in November 2026; the season concludes in February 2027.
- Practices are held Monday–Friday, either 3:30–5:00 PM or 5:00–6:30 PM.
- Matches are typically scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Pay
$6,500–$7,250 for the season.
