Essential Duties And Responsibilities Thorough knowledge of all local and state athletic policiesImplement policies as requiredAttend all required meetings set by school and MPAEmphasize the importance of academics, sportsmanship, and citizenship as part of the athletic philosophyMaintain high standards for athletes' performance and conductModel standards of conduct in own behaviorDress appropriately at practices and gamesKnowledge of sportKnowledge of training and conditioning techniquesSeek opportunities to learn and employ new techniques and ideasTeach skills that are appropriate and safe for the individual athleteSupervise athletes at all timesMaintain, inventory, properly store, and care for equipmentCheck equipment and facilities for safetyOversee the necessary preparation to hold scheduled events or practices as necessaryCreate and enforce appropriate team rulesKnowledge and use of appropriate emergency/injury response skillsEncourage leadership of athletes on and off the fieldCommunicate with parents promptly and appropriatelyParticipate in pre-season informational meetings with parents and athletesInteract with game officials effectively and appropriatelyModel excellent sportsmanship at all timesMeet deadlines for paperwork and other related dutiesMaintain paperwork/records of athletes as requiredPerform other duties that may be assigned by the head coach, athletic director, or principal Language And Communication Skills Ability to read and interpret documents pertinent to position, i.e. athletic policy manuals, handbooks, and state guidelinesAbility to communicate clearly, concisely, and correctly, in speech and writing, to parents, coaches, and athletesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, athletes, coaching staff, and the community Mathematical Skills Understanding of budgeting and accounting practices Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
