Boys Basketball Coach

About the role

Provide coaching to all participating students in extracurricular athletic activities channeled into healthy pursuits that teach sportsmanship and teamwork and build personal confidence. Enforce the philosophy "Every Player Plays". Additional Information: 2 Positions (1 Head & 1 Assistant).

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and responsibility for all equipment, supplies, and uniforms;
• Follow and enforce applicable school policies and rules, including eligibility rules and AIA or BCI rules at MS level;
• Ensure the participation of all interested students at MS level;
• Make and verify arrangements for games, including scheduling of facilities, transportation, officials, etc. at MS Level;
• Attend league meetings and activities when appropriate;
• Demonstrates good sportsmanship;
• Adhere to athletic eligibility requirements: ensure a current physical on file, insurance information on file, clearance slip before practice/competition, students passing all classes with a C or better, send player list to teachers one week before game for eligibility check, adhere to all eligibility policies, forfeit games if an ineligible student participated;
• Adhere to uniform policy and procedures: check out uniforms to coach at MS level, check in uniforms no later than one week after season over, give uniforms only to eligible game‑day students (ineligible students may not wear jersey during school day);

Requirements

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card;
• CPR and First Aid required for High School.

Pay

Salary (Addendum for the Season): Head Coach $2,000; Assistant Coach $1,500.
