Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive and Transportation: Safely operate a box truck to transport freight, equipment, and materials to and from event venues, warehouses, and other designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel receipts.
- Communicate with Operations teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and any delays.
- Warehouse Freight Handling: Load and unload freight from box trucks, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent damage.
- Organize and stage freight in the warehouse according to event schedules and delivery requirements.
- Aid in receiving, sorting, and storing incoming freight and materials.
- Prepare freight for outbound shipment, including labeling, wrapping, and securing loads.
- Event Support: Deliver and pick up exhibitor freight and materials at event sites in a timely manner.
- Assist with onsite setup and breakdown of freight areas as needed.
- Respond to onsite requests from event coordinators and exhibitors regarding freight delivery and logistics.
- Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the warehouse and while operating the box truck.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or safety concerns immediately to management.
- Keep the box truck clean and organized, ensuring it is ready for daily operations.
- Participate in safety training and meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy freight (up to 50+ lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate loading, delivery, and handling of freight to prevent damage or loss.
- Time Management: Ability to meet delivery schedules and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff, Operations teams, and event coordinators to ensure seamless logistics.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work long hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight stays during events.
- Safety Conscious: Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Full-Time Attendance: Required during events and at the warehouse/depot during non-event periods.
