Essential Functions
- Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT...
- Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy
- Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.
- Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
- Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
- Comply with performance measures
Requirements/Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- CDL B License
- Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar
- Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices
- Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred

Physical Demands/Work Environment

- The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- On the road, the employee may encounter traffic or other hazardous driving conditions.
