Box Truck Driver 1st Shift

About the role

Sterling, a leading print resource for the financial industry and broader business community, is expanding its brand‑new facility in Hauppauge, NY (Long Island, Suffolk County). We are seeking a full‑time Box Truck Driver / Packer who is hands‑on, mature, and proactive to pack, ship, and transport orders to customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up orders and returns.
• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Load and unload work and delivery vans and trucks.
• Prepare all orders for shipment, fill and ship orders.
• Operate a forklift, pack and shrink‑wrap boxes and skids.
• Turn in receipts received from deliveries.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Report any mechanical problems, delays, accidents, or other transportation situations to a supervisor or manager.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Valid NY driver’s license and clean driving record (required).
• Ability to read maps and follow written or verbal geographical directions.
• Team player who is dependable and reliable.
• Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Good communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Availability to work the assigned shift and overtime if required.
• Ability to follow orders with minimum supervision.
• Effective written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of Spanish (preferred but not required).
• Ability to follow safety standards.
• Willingness to be on‑call for emergency situations.

Schedule

Shift: 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM (overnight), with overtime as needed.
