About the Role

Work under general supervision of the bowling facility manager who provides assignments either orally or through work orders. Maintain, adjust, and repair a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts, components, and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using manufacturer's diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and feeler gages.
• Conduct operational checks, visually inspect for worn or damaged parts, trace wiring, disassemble, make necessary adjustments, repairs, or replace defective parts, clean, lubricate, and reassemble equipment.
• Perform repairs and adjustments including re-timing cams and gears, measuring and regulating the sweep of rakes, replacing broken or worn pins, rods, brushes, bolts, belts, tension springs, filing contact points, and cleaning and lubricating parts.

• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Available to work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Work requires frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, standing, and working in awkward positions.
• Involves frequent lifting of parts up to 40 lbs and occasionally working with parts up to 100 lbs.

Minimum Qualification Criteria

• Work experience directly related to the duties described above.

Highly Qualified Criteria

Candidates who meet both the minimum qualifications and the following criteria will be considered "Best Qualified":

• Skilled in the use of standard electrical test equipment, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, continuity testers, and test lamps.
• Able to perform repairs such as soldering loose connections, burnishing contact points, splicing, insulating exposed wires, and replacing defective printed circuit boards.

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. This position is open to candidates who live in the local area of Big Island (Hawaii).
