About the role

Position Overview: As part of the talented Boston Whaler team, supervise production employees and assigns work meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. Recommend and execute improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions through listening, engaging employees and problem solving. Act as the company conduit for employee communications to keep employees abreast of news and information.

Responsibilities

  • Own the four (4) main metrics (safety, quality, delivery, productivity/people) - understand results & implement action plans to close gaps & meet targets
  • Typically spends 75% of time on the floor in direct supervision of daily production / 25% of time on administrative and project tasks
  • Successfully adheres to and models Brunswick’s Employee Value Proposition and Values (Innovative, Driven, Exceptional, Authentic and United)
  • Communicate safety expectations and hold employees/leaders accountable to those standards
  • Lead meetings with Supervisor Group as assigned by Manager
  • Lead day to day coordination between supervisors (people movement outside of dept)
  • Mentor and grow other supervisors
  • May have direct responsibility over other supervisors
  • Has direct leadership over special projects or programs
  • Leads cross functional teams for major changes or improvements
  • Participate in quality non-conformance communication and problem solving
  • Lead others to model the behavioral values of the company
  • Utilize Emotional Intelligence to influence peer group’s behaviors and views and lead direct team to do so
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency with tasks and lead direct team to do so
  • Clear, accurate and concise communication
  • Set clear expectations for each employee and help them achieve their goals and lead direct team to do so
  • Be involved and/or lead continuous improvement projects based on production performance data and lead direct team to do so
  • Provide performance feedback to operators (good and bad)
  • Be a continuous learner

Required Qualifications: Communicate safety expectations and hold employees/leaders accountable to those standards Lead meetings with Supervisor Group as assigned by Manager Lead day to day coordination between supervisors (people movement outside of dept) Working directly through other superiors to achieve this Mentoring and growing other supervisors May have direct responsibility over other supervisors Has direct leadership over special projects or programs Leads cross-functional teams for major changes or improvements Participate in quality non-conformance communication and problem solving Lead others to model the behavioral values of the company Employee Value Proposition/Leadership Values and lead direct team to do so Utilize Emotional Intelligence to influence peer group’s behaviors and views and lead direct team to do so Exhibit a sense of urgency with tasks and lead direct team to do so Clear, accurate and concise communication Set clear expectations for each employee and help them achieve their goals and lead direct team to do so Be involved and/or lead continuous improvement projects based on production performance data and lead direct team to do so Provide performance feedback to operators (good and bad) Be a continuous learner Meets all requirements of a supervisor II plus, Green Belt Certified, has rotated 2/3 times to different supervisory roles, 5+ Years Experience, Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred and/or actively pursuing A Level III supervisor has full authority and may be considered lower middle management. Lead or in charge of (direct or dotted line) Production Supervisors Working Conditions: Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production) Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned) While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay

The hiring range for this position is $70,600 - $101,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
