Boston Whaler - Finisher I

Location: Edgewater, FL (Boston Whaler facility) – onsite role with no travel or direct reports.

About the role

As part of the Boston Whaler team, you will repair fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts, ensuring a flawless finish. You’ll use a variety of tools—spray guns, buffers, grinders, drills, and specialty fixtures—to inspect, finish, and restore fiberglass components.

Responsibilities

• Repair fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts using spray guns, buffers, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and paste.
• Operate hand and pneumatic tools, including gel-coat spray equipment, grinders, buffers, drills, and abrasive sanding tools.
• Follow verbal and written directions; read and provide status updates on part completion.
• Inspect parts and understand fiberglass finishing techniques, including basic use of abrasives.
• Adhere to all safety and quality standards, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals, solvents, paints, and PPE.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with mutual respect.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to fluently speak, read, understand, and write English.
• Experience with hand and pneumatic tools, buffers, and abrasive sanding.
• Understanding of solvents, paints, pastes, putty, wax, and proper disposal methods.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to work in proximity with coworkers in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of finishing experience in the marine industry.
• Prior fiberglass repair and finishing experience.

Working Conditions

The role involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $19.63 – $30.39. Actual base pay varies based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, and geographic location.
