Boston Whaler - Finisher I
Location: Boston Whaler - Edgewater, FL. Onsite role; no travel required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
About the role
As part of the Boston Whaler team, you will repair fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts. You will be responsible for inspection and fiberglass finishing, using tools such as spray guns, buffers, grinders, drills, and other specialty equipment.
Responsibilities
- Repair fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts using spray guns, buffers, grinders, drills, and other hand or pneumatic tools.
- Apply paint, wax, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and paste.
- Handle and apply solvents, paints, pastes, putty, and wax with proper disposal.
- Read and follow verbal and written directions, including blueprints and job instructions.
- Inspect parts and understand fiberglass finish or basic use of abrasives.
- Provide verbal and/or written status of part completion.
- Work safely, adhering to all safety and quality standards, including chemical handling and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with coworkers in a team environment with mutual respect.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to fluently speak, read, understand, and write English.
- Ability to use hand, pneumatic tools, buffers, and abrasive sanding equipment.
- Experience with fiberglass repair and finishing (preferred but not required).
- Two or more years of finishing experience in the marine industry (preferred).
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to:
- Moving mechanical parts.
- High, precarious places.
- Fumes or airborne particles.
- Toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is $19.63–$30.39 hourly. Actual base pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
