Boston.com, one of the most-read digital media outlets in the region, is offering a full-time co-op focused on audience engagement journalism from July to December 2025 for a college journalist.
About the role
Qualified candidates are highly collaborative student journalists interested in gaining versatile experience at a digital media outlet. Our newsroom publishes fast, local, and useful content primarily for mobile readers.
Responsibilities
- Pitch and execute multimedia projects, emphasizing highly visual, short-form formats created originally or obtained from third parties.
- Balance tight turnaround and advance-notice projects across general assignment news, sports, lifestyle, and things to do.
- Serve as a teamwide collaborator and resource on all Boston.com multimedia projects.
- Share content across social media channels, engaging with daily conversations using pertinent copy and local knowledge.
Requirements
- College student studying journalism or a related major.
- Junior or senior status encouraged to apply.
- Experience at a media outlet is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X.
- Enthusiasm for digital journalism and eagerness to learn.
- Based in the Boston area or willing to relocate.

Pay
The hourly rate for this role is $15.00.
Location
The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines.
