Boston Children's Hospital (Public Safety Officer's) - $24.45/hour

Job Summary

Securitas Security Services USA Inc. is seeking Public Safety Officers to work at Boston Children's Hospital. Candidates must be flexible with weekend and holiday shifts. Responsibilities include responding to alarms, escorting patients, restraining patients, conducting patient watches, preventing self-harm, de-escalating disruptive behavior, and managing the main desk.

Responsibilities

• Interact with both mentally sound and mentally diminished patients
• Physically and mechanically restrain patients using wrist and ankle straps
• Conduct patient watches for up to 8 hours while remaining attentive
• Prevent patients from self-harm and/or leaving the room
• De-escalate patients or guests who become agitated or disruptive
• Assist hospital staff with searching patients for dangerous weapons/objects
• Manage main desk and lobby area, maintaining exceptional phone etiquette
• Conduct access control and interact with 250+ visitors per day
• Respond to alarms with a strong sense of urgency
• Write up to 300 reports per year, or more

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
• Effective teamwork and professional composure
• Courteous telephone manner
• Good organizational and customer service skills
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups
