About the Role

The BOSS Elementary POD Instructor delivers high-quality instruction in a blended learning environment, combining traditional classroom teaching with online methodologies to enhance student engagement and academic success. This role involves collaborating with educators, support staff, and students to develop and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging blended learning lessons incorporating digital resources and traditional teaching methods.
  • Monitor student progress through assessments and provide timely feedback to ensure mastery of subject matter.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials aligned with state standards and district goals.
  • Utilize data analytics to tailor instruction to meet diverse student needs, fostering a personalized learning experience.
  • Support students in developing digital literacy skills and encourage responsible use of technology.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians to provide progress updates and address concerns.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay current with educational technologies.
  • Design and implement an instructional program aligned with the company’s educational philosophy and adopted curriculum objectives.
  • Develop intentional and effective lesson plans incorporating diverse teaching strategies to optimize engagement.
  • Deliver subject matter using real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance outcomes.
  • Analyze student records to gain insights into individual abilities and needs while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Integrate differentiated instruction and multiple learning modalities to address diverse student needs.
  • Conduct frequent diagnostic assessments, evaluate student strengths and weaknesses, and provide targeted activities.
  • Refer students with potential learning challenges to appropriate support services.
  • Organize class field trips and prepare students for state-mandated achievement assessments.
  • Stay informed about subject matter and educational theories, contributing to ongoing curriculum development.
  • Establish a virtual classroom environment conducive to learning, tailored to student maturity and interests.
  • Build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience and support to facilitate growth.
  • Enforce policies regarding student behavior and develop clear, reasonable rules for virtual classroom conduct.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with educational guidelines and design group/individual learning activities using appropriate technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues during curriculum planning meetings and integrate IEP requirements into lesson planning.
  • Cultivate cooperative relationships with parents/guardians through clear, consistent, and positive communication.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding student records and participate in extracurricular activities to promote a positive school culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification in the subject area and grade level.
  • Experience with blended learning models and instructional technology.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood and elementary school curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Previous experience in virtual teaching or online education environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with educational technologies, including LMS, video conferencing tools, and online assessment platforms.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational best practices.

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and create an inclusive, supportive virtual learning environment.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple classes, track student progress, and meet deadlines.
  • Best practices for virtual classroom management, including setting clear expectations, engaging students actively, and establishing routines.
  • Effective use of technology, such as interactive whiteboards, video conferencing tools, and assessment platforms (e.g., Kahoot!, Quizizz).
  • Strategies for fostering open dialogue with parents, including regular updates, virtual meetings, and resource-sharing.

Work Environment

This position operates in a POD location site setting, incorporating both in-person and online instruction. The BOSS Elementary POD Instructor collaborates with a team of educators and works closely with students in a supportive, innovative learning environment.

Physical Demands

  • Extended use of computer-based technologies for online instruction.
  • Standing, sitting, and walking as required for teaching responsibilities.

This position is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
