About the Role

The Boring Rig Foreman oversees and executes the construction and installation of all boring projects, ensuring completion in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. This role involves applying company policies, training crew members, and managing daily activities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical information, manuals, policies, procedures, work orders, blueprints, spec books, system maps, and diagrams.
• Manage emergency situations, hazardous conditions, multiple priorities, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.
• Operate HDD locating equipment and read basic prints and drawings.
• Apply knowledge of HDD practices and adjust field installations as needed.
• Demonstrate strong equipment operating skills and knowledge of HDD drilling fluid products, including proper mixing procedures.
• Complete documentation and assist with Job Hazard Analysis pre- and post-job meetings.

Work Environment

This role operates in a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites, including exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and outdoor elements.

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly, over distances of at least 20 feet.
• Walk over uneven, steep, or difficult terrain for distances up to a quarter mile on a recurring basis.
• Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, and excellent stamina.
• Ability to hear, see, and differentiate colors and depth perception over long distances.

Schedule

This is a full-time position that frequently requires long hours and weekend work. The role may involve travel for storm recovery or emergency utility repair, with length of stay dependent on work volume.

Travel

Primary work locations are at customer premises, which may require weekly overnight travel. Out-of-area and extended travel may be required based on customer demand.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a boring crew foreman.
• Valid CDL-A license with a clear driving record.
• Planning and organizational skills to schedule crews, assign duties, and meet deadlines.
• Good mathematical skills for calculating figures and amounts.
• Strong communication skills to relay expectations and company goals to crew members.
• Leadership skills to provide guidance and training in a safe and effective manner.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written) for communicating instructions and information.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a boring crew foreman.
• Technical training on the use of HDD drilling fluid products.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $34–$39 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
