About the Role
The Polizeipräsidium Einsatz, Logistik und Technik (PP ELT) is the service provider for the Rhineland-Palatinate police. Its responsibilities include specific operational support at state and federal level (riot police and special units) as well as operational competence on the navigable waterways of the state (water police). The WSP-Station Trier is a medium-sized water police station. It has a multi-story building in Trier and is represented at the Bernkastel-Kues location with two offices. In addition, a boat jetty in the WSA-Hafen Trier and a boat hall in Bernkastel-Kues are to be maintained. The existing service boats and service vehicles must be maintained there, as well as all types of caretaker activities in the building in Trier and on the floating facilities.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning, care and maintenance of service boats and service vehicles
- Care and cleaning of garages, workshop, emergency power room and service yard
- Caretaker activities, in particular carrying out minor maintenance and repair work on the premises and boat landing stage as part of building maintenance
- Care and cleaning of the outdoor facilities and the jetty system
- Winter snow clearing and gritting
- Water level-dependent safety measures on the jetty and boat hall as well as clearing and tidying up work, particularly in connection with flooding
Requirements
- Completed craft vocational training in the field of boat building or shipbuilding, mechatronics technician or alternatively as a fitter or electrician or comparable craft training
- Driving licence class B
- Health suitability, in particular for lifting and carrying loads weighing more than 5 kg
- Knowledge of boat technology, environmental protection regulations, the Operating Materials Ordinance and occupational safety regulations is desirable
- Manual skills and technical understanding in the field of boat building or shipbuilding and mechatronics
- Ability to carry out the activity predominantly alone and to structure it
- Sense of responsibility and willingness to take responsibility
