Bookmobile Librarian/Driver

About the role

The Tri County Bookmobile is currently based in Richfield, UT. Your local coworker oversees the Headquarters Library based in Bicknell, UT where the Tri County collection is housed and operates as a public library location for patrons. You will provide mobile library services to rural communities through a rotating bi-weekly schedule of stops at schools, community centers and businesses.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and maintain the bookmobile vehicle.
• Deliver books and media.
• Provide research and reference assistance.
• Offer readers advisory service.
• Provide technology and digital literacy education.
• Promote and educate residents on library services.
• Market and promote the bookmobile program and its services.
• Attend community outreach events.
• Collaborate and maintain a positive rapport with patrons, community partners and local officials.
• Deliver top notch library service in Utah’s beautiful rural landscape.

Qualifications

• Work experience driving large vehicles.
• Class B commercial drivers license or willing to get one, if/when necessary.
• Professional experience working in a public or school library.
• Works independently.
• Interacts with all people in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet programs, and library management software.
• Ability to work some evenings and some weekends.
