About the role

Kicks N Sticks is a growing sporting goods retailer specializing in high-quality lacrosse equipment and accessories. Our mission is to provide athletes with premium products at affordable prices while delivering exceptional customer service. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to help maintain the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process invoices, vendor payments, and customer payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor expenses and assist with budgeting.
  • Process payroll or coordinate payroll with third-party providers.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Absorb additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or inventory-based businesses.
  • Familiarity with sales tax reporting and payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and reconciliation.
  • Experience preparing reports for management and external accountants.
