Bookkeeper for small nonprofit (Austin-based only)
About the role
The Human Potential Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization founded in Austin in 1986, is seeking a volunteer Bookkeeper. This unpaid position offers a unique work environment focused on creativity, love, and playfulness, aligning with our mission to create an emotionally-healthy community that sparks the human spirit.
As a small nonprofit, you’ll work in a relaxed setting where you’ll know everyone and have the flexibility to schedule your 5-10 hours per month. Support will always be available if you have questions or need guidance. Your work will contribute to our wellness-oriented programs, classes, and initiatives like GoodwheelChairs.org, which provides mobility products for disabled persons.

Responsibilities
- Perform standard bookkeeping duties in a nonprofit environment.
- Manage financial records and ensure accuracy.
- Support the organization’s programs and initiatives through financial oversight.
Schedule
Flexible, with a commitment of 5-10 hours per month. You can largely decide your own schedule and take breaks as needed.
