Responsibilities
- Perform bone densitometry (DXA) scans in accordance with established protocols.
- Accurately position patients and operate densitometry equipment to obtain high-quality images.
- Cultivate daily quality control and calibration of DXA equipment.
- Analyze scan results and ensure proper documentation.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate patient records in RIS/PACS or EMR.
- Adhere to radiation safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program is required.
- Experience in bone densitometry or diagnostic imaging is preferred.
- ARRT (R) certification is required.
- BLS Certification (American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’) - AHA approved required.
- Bone Densitometry (BD) certification is preferred.
