About the role

Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials (composite or metal) assemblies, parts, skins, components, or structures into semi-finished or finished products.

Responsibilities

• Lays out articles, cuts parts or materials to size.
• Applies liquid or solid bonding agents.
• Performs bagging and debulking processes.
• Operates autoclave, hot bonders, and ovens to complete bonding cycle.
• Controls conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used.
• Sands, deburrs, and smooths over areas; applies sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
• Makes repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
• Monitors and verifies quality of finished product.
• Notifies immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.
• Completes repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Fulfills other various duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to learn and understand and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Skills

• Knowledge of bonding agents and materials.
• Ability to operate equipment such as autoclaves, hot bonders, and ovens.
• Attention to detail for quality control.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for repairs.
