Essential Functions
- Analyzes and evaluates new submissions including financial statements, work in progress reports, and overall credit worthiness.
- Maintains current account files and visits accounts as needed.
- Builds and maintains agency relationships.
- Educates agents on the bond philosophy and services EMC provides its customers.
- Marksets services to agents.
- Identifies opportunities and potential barriers within agency relationships.
- Underwrites new account submissions within an assigned underwriting authority level.
- Participates in industry functions, meetings and seminars.
- Keeps current on trade publications and business journals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent relevant experience.
- One year of experience in bond underwriting or related experience.
Qualifications
- Good bond underwriting knowledge.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent multitasking and organization skills.
- Strong keyboarding skills and computer knowledge including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong human relations skills, including written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work effectively with others, as well as independently.

Benefits
- The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following: $60,813 - $84,038 or $67,200 - $92,395.
Pay
- A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
Schedule
- Occasional travel required; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving.
