Why this role matters The Bond Support Specialist will provide customers exceptional service on their bonds, ensure that we maintain strong relationships with surety bond carrier partners, and assist all insurance customers with their bond needs. This is a fast-paced position with frequent customer interaction and critical thinking skills including requiring a high level of organizational skills. This role is responsible for handling all surety bond claims and is expected to maintain a commitment to high-quality customer service. The Bond Support Specialist at VGM Insurance is customer facing and responsible for supporting the servicing of our surety bond customers including handling all claim functions and administrative process changes on the Surety Bond book of business for VGM Insurance Services. You do not need to be an insurance or surety bond expert to succeed in this role. Reporting Accountability: VP of Carrier Relations and Program Development within VGM Insurance Working Location: On-site in Waterloo, Iowa Working Hours Classification: Full-Time, 40+ hours per week, 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday with additional hours as needed to meet business need and job requirements What You'll Do Serve as point of contact for all surety bond customers calls and inquiries received via email and phoneBuild professional relationships by communicating frequently and clearly to customers to meet mutual objectivesProvide high quality customer service to VGM Insurance (VGMI) surety bond clients Work collaboratively with Bond Underwriter on impacts claims has on underwriting of renewalsReview, process and document all claims received from Medicare, with focus on communicating impacts of claim activity with customersSupport system integration between VGMI two core systems for surety bonds including accurate invoicing and billingQuote and retain all general agency surety bond needs, working collaboratively with our internal sales team, agency team and customersMaintain strong knowledge and experience of insurance and surety bonds including coverages, rating, terminology and technical proceduresDevelop process improvements within the surety bond programEnsure that all regulatory, compliance and transparency requirements are met and complies with all internal policies and proceduresPerform other duties and complete projects as assigned What Will Make You Successful The Bond Support Specialist does not need to be a surety bond expert. Rather, an interest in learning about the insurance industry, obtaining and/or maintaining a commercial insurance license, and providing high quality customer service to our clients is key to success in this role. Commercial Insurance License – if not currently licensed, or license has expired upon employment, candidate is required to obtain license and pass all applicable exams within 60 daysVGM Insurance will support you in obtaining the commercial insurance license within the first 60 days of employment 1+ year(s) of experience providing professional customer service in a corporate office setting 2 or 4 year degree in insurance, risk management, or business-related field preferred Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsProven attention to detail, follow-through skills, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at onceAbility to work independently in a fast-paced and paperless environment Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines.Proven ability to maintain strong business relationships and communicate effectively with others Physical Requirements Working in front of and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment for long amounts of time per day Occasional travel to VGM offices for meetings/training etc. if working remote/hybrid Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment for hours per day Visual abilities include reading, distance vision and peripheral visionMoving throughout the VGM facilities when needed Learn More About VGM Group, Inc.
