Bombardier Aircraft Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift - 1071

On-site, full-time position in Chattanooga, TN.

As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician on our 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 3 pm–1 am), you’ll receive a 10 %–15 % shift premium, paid lunch, three-day weekends, formal airframe training, and eligibility to transfer to 1st shift after three years. Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems
• Remove and install panels and components
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve aircraft system/component issues (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
• De-fuel aircraft
• Remove and install engines
• Operate ground support equipment
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components
• Move aircraft and assist in performance runs/taxiing
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
• Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read)
• Perform any other job-related duties assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or valid passport (ideal but not mandatory)
• Airframe or Powerplant license (specific level determines experience tier)
• Reliable transportation to work each day
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including overtime and weekends
• Self-motivated team player comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Experience Levels

• AMT I: Airframe (preferred) or Powerplant license; 0–2 years of aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar experience; close supervision required
• AMT II: Airframe (preferred) or Powerplant license; 2–4 years of aviation maintenance; general supervision on routine tasks, detailed instruction for new/special assignments
• AMT III: Airframe license required, Powerplant highly preferred; 4–6+ years of aviation maintenance; full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments
• AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license; 6+ years of aviation maintenance; extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms; subject-matter expert in all job areas

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Lift 50 lbs
• Routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in small/restricted areas
• Repetitive arm/hand motion
• Stand for long periods
• Understand and implement regulations and guidelines
• Troubleshoot and evaluate system operation
• Work professionally with others

Working Conditions

• Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations (very cold to very hot)
• Occasional outdoor work during aircraft runs
• Varied positions in and around aircraft
• Use of personal hand tools, pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical equipment, jacks, stands, lifts, tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment
