Responsibilities
A journeyman level Boilermaker has a minimum of 4 years heavy industrial experience in all aspects of safe boiler and boiler component assembly and maintenance including welding, fabrication, and stress relieving. Essential duties include:
- Using hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools in a safe manner
- Safely performing oxyfuel cutting tasks: straight line and square shapes, piercing and slot cutting, bevels, and washing
- Correctly identifying and installing valves, gaskets, hangers, and supports
- Rigging and able to read boiler drawings and detail sheets
- Socket weld pipe fabrication and butt weld pipe fabrication
- Advanced tube work, including identifying problem tubes, extracting, rolling, and plugging tubes
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Boilermaker
- A locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job
- Proficiency in rigging, including safely and competently identifying and using basic and special rigging procedures and equipment
- Ability to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements
Physical/Site Requirements
The candidate must be able to:
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds
- Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
- Work at heights with fall protection, work from manlifts, baskets, JLG’s etc.
