About the role

The Boiler Service Technician-Level 3 is responsible for advanced service, maintenance, and repair of hot water and steam boiler systems in commercial and industrial environments. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, including burner setup and combustion on dual-fuel systems, as well as a solid understanding of control and motor wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install boilers.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot boiler issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of burner setup and combustion management on dual-fuel systems.
  • Knowledge of working on 3-element feedwater systems, parallel positioning controls.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with analog circuits and transmitters.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to other technicians on boiler repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
  • Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work.
  • Inspect vehicles and maintain vehicle condition and literature supplies.
  • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
  • Serve as a direct customer contact, determining parts to order for repairs and the timeliness of need.
  • Stay current with manufacturers' products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Be knowledgeable with the products and services offered by Brady and become effective in the sales of those products and services.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  • 5 years of related experience in field.
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license, Universal EPA certification.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing.
  • Standing, walking, reaching, gripping.
  • Lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 115 lbs., frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and possible extreme weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment.
  • Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
