Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, repair, clean, and maintain heating and cooling equipment and related systems for commercial/industrial customers
- Troubleshoot, test, repair, maintain, or modify heating systems and equipment, including high pressure steam, low pressure steam, and hot water systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as requested by customers
- Prepare on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating challenges, identifying materials, and coordinating on-site work
- Document, complete, and maintain paperwork on each job
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience cleaning and servicing boilers in a commercial/industrial environment, or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- 4+ years of practical experience in general HVAC work
- Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systems
- Understanding of fuel oil, natural gas, and propane
- Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics
- Must adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
Work Environment
- May work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
- May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including dust
- May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
Physical Demands
- Routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
- May work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to correctly identify all colors of color-coded cables/wires
- Must have close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Travel
May require travel (typically not overnight)
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of HVAC 20’s equipment
- Journeyman’s or Master license
- Prior military experience
