About the role

At Cibo Vita, we are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Boiler Room Technician I to join our facilities team. This role is primarily responsible for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of boiler systems, steam rooms, and related utilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain high- and low-pressure boiler systems and steam room equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure consistent utilities support.
  • Maintain logs, records, and documentation for compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to support production needs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies as applicable.
  • Assist with utility upgrades, system installations, and equipment modifications as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and support after-hours operations as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Boiler Operator License or certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
  • Proven experience working with boiler systems and steam room equipment (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Knowledge of utilities engineering principles, including steam, water, and compressed air systems.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to boiler operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for logging maintenance data and communicating with the team.
  • Physical ability to lift equipment and perform maintenance in various environments.
