About the role
At Cibo Vita, we are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Boiler Room Technician I to join our facilities team. This role is primarily responsible for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of boiler systems, steam rooms, and related utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain high- and low-pressure boiler systems and steam room equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient system performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure consistent utilities support.
- Maintain logs, records, and documentation for compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to support production needs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies as applicable.
- Assist with utility upgrades, system installations, and equipment modifications as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and support after-hours operations as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Boiler Operator License or certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
- Proven experience working with boiler systems and steam room equipment (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Knowledge of utilities engineering principles, including steam, water, and compressed air systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to boiler operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance data and communicating with the team.
- Physical ability to lift equipment and perform maintenance in various environments.
