Boiler Operator - Engineering - North
Job Summary
The Boiler Operator II at CoxHealth is responsible for maintaining and inspecting various mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and inspecting boilers, steam, condensate systems, chillers, booster pumps, tube stations, elevators, and serving as dispatch for CMMS. The position requires proficiency in communication, prioritization, and problem-solving, along with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and facility maintenance.
About the Role
This role is based at Facility Cox North located at 1423 N Jefferson Ave, Springfield, Missouri, United States of America, 65802. It is part of the Engineering North department and works a night shift schedule. CoxHealth is a leading healthcare system recognized for workplace excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and inspect boilers, steam, condensate systems, chiller systems, booster pumps, tube stations, elevators, and serve as dispatch for CMMS.
- Respond to work requests timely and professionally.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary and approved by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Preferred: Trade School in the mechanical fields.
- Required: At least three years prior boiler/chiller/mechanical work or related experience.
Qualifications
- Proficient communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload.
- Proficient skills necessary to find solutions to equipment malfunctions and initiate necessary repairs.
- Proficient knowledge of the safe operation of all tools used in the performance of duties.
- Proficient knowledge to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for repairs to building equipment and structure.
- Proficient knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fire alarm systems, HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems and building repairs.
- Demonstrates proficient technical skills for the repair and general maintenance of facilities in the following areas: Plumbing and fixtures, Electrical wiring, devices, lighting and motors, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and cooling towers, Steam and boilers, Pressure vessels and associated equipment, Generators, Medical gas and vacuum, Refrigeration units and ice machines, Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers, Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels, Chilled water and condenser pumps, Air compressors and refrigerated air dryers, Air handlers, fans, and heat wheels, Chilled water and condenser pumps.
