About the role
At Good Samaritan Hospital, boiler operators play a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping the hospital running safely and reliably. Your technical expertise directly supports patient care in a mission-driven, not-for-profit healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Operates, monitors, and repairs three gas/oil fired boilers and related equipment
- Operates and monitors three hospital computer systems (Pevco pneumatic tube system, Honeywell Building Automation System, and Metasys building automation system)
- Uses Maximo work order program, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
- Answers phones and records proper information for Engineering and Maintenance, dispatching E & M technicians
- Maintains the physical appearance of assigned equipment and plant
- Performs assigned preventative maintenance, repairs, and tasks with proper documentation
- Demonstrates good flexibility and initiative
- Prepares boilers and other vessels for annual inspections
- Works on other duties and additional jobs as requested and deemed necessary by the supervisor
Requirements
- High School Degree
- Ohio State Stationary License
- Boiler firing & repair, mechanical, and computer knowledge
- 3-4 years experience in a related field
