Boiler Operator (2nd Shift : 5pm to 5am)

About the role

Columbia Forest Products is North America’s largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products. Columbia’s decorative interior veneers and panels are used in high-end cabinetry, fine furniture, architectural millwork and commercial fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor key indicators such as water level, pressure, temperature, and steam load.
• Transfer wood fuel from storage to the boiler.
• Perform weekly maintenance duties, including thorough cleaning of tubes and ashes.
• Adhere to written and verbal job instructions.
• Provide constructive feedback and apply critical thinking to achieve optimal boiler performance.
• Use personal safety equipment when navigating a dynamic manufacturing environment involving moving machinery, fast‑paced forklift traffic, and machine noise, with conditions varying by season.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the operation of two wood‑fired boilers.
• Deep understanding of standard boiler operating procedures.

Schedule

4‑days‑on, 4‑days‑off work schedule.
