Boiler/HVAC Mechanic, 1st Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boiler systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
• Conduct regular inspections of boiler equipment and related systems to identify and address potential issues.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure seamless operation of all equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Aid in the installation and commissioning of new boiler equipment as needed.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics and other team members.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in boiler technology to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Vocational training or on-the-job training in machine operations and metal fabrication is necessary.
• Must be able to read and follow drawings, blueprints and written specifications.
• Blue seal refrigeration license required; blue seal boiler or higher preferred.
• Math and computer skills are preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in an industrial environment.
• Competent in machinery repair and installation, pumps, mixers and mechanical equipment, General Electric work, plumbing, pipefitting and welding, general maintenance.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls.
• Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
