Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boiler systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Conduct regular inspections of boiler equipment and related systems to identify and address potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to ensure seamless operation of all equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Aid in the installation and commissioning of new boiler equipment as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics and other team members.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in boiler technology to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
- Vocational training or on-the-job training in machine operations and metal fabrication is necessary.
- Must be able to read and follow drawings, blueprints and written specifications.
- Blue seal refrigeration license required; blue seal boiler or higher preferred.
- Math and computer skills are preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Competent in machinery repair and installation, pumps, mixers and mechanical equipment, General Electric work, plumbing, pipefitting and welding, general maintenance.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls.
- Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
