Boiler & Facilities Mechanic

About the role

Ecolab is seeking a Boiler and Facilities Mechanic to join our team in Naperville, IL. We help industrial customers achieve clean water, safe food, and healthy environments through digital water management and hygiene solutions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on high-pressure boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment, make repairs, and modify equipment
• Maintain and monitor control boards, regulating equipment according to procedures and instrument readings
• Order and manage parts inventory
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or military setting, or formal vocational training in plant maintenance
• Experience with pressure steam plant operations, absorption/steam chiller operations, and PLC-based applications
• Stationary Engineers License preferred
• Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and rigging
• TPM or Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
• Refrigeration certification and snow removal experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on industrial applications
• Experience with industrial electrical wiring, plumbing, pipefitting, pump repair and rebuilding
• Experience in a TPM or Lean Six Sigma environment
• Welding experience
• Snow removal experience

Physical Demands

• Climbing ladders
• Lifting up to 75 lbs
• Working in confined spaces, heat, and at heights

Position Details

• Location: Naperville, IL
• Hours: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, Sunday to Thursday
• Compensation: $38 per hour, increasing up to $42.50 in the first 2 years (increase every 6 months upon successful completion of training)
• Shift Differential: $0.40 per hour
