About the role

As a Communications Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that drive aerospace innovation. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll work directly with a mentor, tour state-of-the-art facilities, interact with company leaders, and build a professional network through social events and activities.

This internship is based in Washington, DC, St. Louis, MO, or Washington state. You’ll support Boeing’s communications priorities, contributing to corporate, business, and program communications in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate with Communications, Boeing Global Engagement, business unit, and functional teams, including leadership.
  • Write, edit, and develop messages, stories, speeches, website and social media content, videos, and event management support for community sponsorships.
  • Assist with the development and execution of strategic communications plans and branding strategies for enterprise and/or business unit goals.
  • Apply advanced communications techniques to support business unit and/or enterprise-wide branding initiatives.
  • Represent Boeing at community-facing events, including occasional weekend work for sponsorship activations.

These positions are 100% onsite. Some roles may require U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required) or compliance with Export Control as a "US Person" (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program with an anticipated graduation date on or after August 2027.
  • Availability for full-time work (10-12 weeks) during summer 2027.
  • Strong writing, editing, social, and digital communications skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s in a related discipline.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Previous internships, work experience, or involvement with student/civic organizations.
  • Passion for the aerospace industry and enthusiasm for a career at Boeing.

Schedule

Full-time (1st shift) for 10-12 weeks during summer 2027. Occasional weekend work may be required.
