Body Shop Technician - Yakima, WA
About the role
Responsible for complete disassembly and reassembly of cab, hood, and related body parts of a motor truck. Duties include repairing and preparing body parts for painting, using various tools and shop machines, and maintaining personal tools.
- Reads and understands blueprints and technical publications.
- Writes detailed descriptions of all work performed.
- Uses computers to punch repair orders.
Responsibilities
Performs repairs within an acceptable time standard, ensuring all tasks are completed safely. Trains helpers in a productive manner and follows Bruckner’s policies and procedures.
- Performs miscellaneous functions as required, such as cleaning, steaming, salvaging, etc.
- May need to assist with continuing education courses.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to take continuing education courses. Must be able to speak and understand English.
- Must have a CDL driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to waist high and 25 pounds to shoulder high.
- Must be able to climb around in the engine compartment, frame areas, and underneath the truck.
Qualifications
Must have a toolbox with all necessary hand tools for truck repairs, including a ½ inch air impact wrench. Must be able to interact positively with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Must be able to pass a physical exam, including a drug test.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
