Body Shop Team Leader - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Machine feeding, setups, and operation of automated and robotic welding machines
  • Monitor and set up machinery for optimal performance
  • Sanding, grinding, and deburring of metals
  • Work with hand, power, and pneumatic tools
  • Perform quality and visual inspection of final welds
  • Assemble and fabricate metal structures according to work specifications
  • Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints
  • Efficiently and safely load machines with required parts and identify issues
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program
  • Technical lead responsibilities:
    • Communicate, improve, and monitor standards
    • Test and adapt timelines of SABs/ASBs
    • Coordinate absence planning (vacation, free shifts, etc.)
    • Execute one-point lessons (in coordination with E5)
    • Organize and execute shift organization (per local regulations)
    • Supervise and adapt SOS and marking/inscription
    • Establish rotation plan (in coordination with the team) and ensure adherence
    • Guarantee and execute Q-Check (at product)
    • Maintain board with indicators/process folder
    • Follow measurements and escalate via E5 if necessary
    • Ensure adherence to team targets
    • Initiate and regulate problem-solving processes, error response to causer
    • Develop and update qualification matrix (in coordination with the team)
    • Perform rework in the close environment
    • Accomplish corrective action process (analysis, error allocation, remedial action, efficacy testing)
    • Support during Q-Stop
    • Check employees’ adherence to standards

Requirements

  • Completed MBV Team Leader Training Program
  • Knowledge of Body Shop operations
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Required: 4+ years relevant experience; OR relevant certificate + 3 years relevant experience; OR relevant associate degree + 1 year relevant experience
  • Preferred: 5+ years relevant experience; OR relevant certificate + 4 years relevant experience; OR relevant associate degree + 2 years relevant experience
  • Must successfully pass assessment testing
  • Prefer knowledge of welding, gluing, metal finish, ultrasonic weld inspection, weld destruct, hydraulic, pneumatic, metal processing, or data processing
