Job Responsibilities

• Assess and estimate the cost of repairs for damaged vehicles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify all necessary repairs and replacements.
• Prepare detailed and itemized estimates, including parts, labor, and materials required for each repair.
• Collaborate with insurance adjusters, customers, and repair technicians to discuss repair options, obtain approvals, and answer any related inquiries.
• Utilize industry-standard software and tools to document and track estimates, repairs, and work progress.
• Maintain effective communication and build strong relationships with insurance providers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
• Stay updated with industry trends, repair techniques, and manufacturer specifications to provide accurate estimates and recommendations.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and processing billing information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Collision Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures, parts, and labor costs.
• Proficient in using computerized estimating systems and software.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, insurance adjusters, and repair technicians.
• Familiarity with insurance policies and procedures is an asset.
• Certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is desirable but not mandatory.
