About the role
Bowser Automotive is seeking a full-time Body Shop Detailer to assist the Body Shop Refinish Technician in preparing vehicles and parts for painting. The Detailer ensures each vehicle returned to a customer has a new car showroom appearance and assists the Body Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with miscellaneous duties to streamline technicians' work.
Responsibilities
- Wash and vacuum vehicles for customers to showroom quality.
- Disassemble and assemble parts for painting (e.g., bumpers, trim, chrome, accessories).
- Perform detailed sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming of cars in preparation for paint.
- Understand and follow written work orders.
- Work independently and under direct supervision.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work station.
- Remove debris and damaged parts for proper disposal.
- Ensure warranty parts are returned to the Parts Department.
- Drive customers to work and home as necessary.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including those for handling and disposing of hazardous waste.
Requirements
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Good judgment.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, bending, stooping, and walking for up to 8 hours per workday.
- Ability to work in a Body Shop environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
