Body Assembler/Technician

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, weld, design repair and install heavy truck equipment and trailers
  • Maintain accurate dimensional tolerances
  • Work from drawings, blueprints, verbal instructions, and other
  • Flag time worked and write stories
  • Clean and maintain welding equipment
  • Adhere to safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Formal technical training degree, certificate, or diploma preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Must have experience with fabrication and welding on both metal and aluminum
  • Must be able to handle heavy materials manually and with machinery
  • Able to handle general tools to perform minor mechanical duties
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Able to read and interpret shop repair order forms, repair manuals, blueprints, and various other technical bulletins
  • Able to use computer keyboard and Windows basics
  • Able to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements
  • Able to work 8 - 10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
  • Able to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
