Bobcat Operator

Essential Job Duties

• Operate Bobcat (skid steer) equipment for:
  • Site preparation and grading
  • Spraying and leveling gravel, asphalt, and base materials
  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Backfilling and compaction
  • Aiding with concrete and asphalt paving operations
  • Fine grading to proper elevations and slopes
  • Aiding crew members with paving and concrete tasks
  • Performing routine equipment inspections and daily maintenance
  • Identifying and reporting mechanical issues promptly
  • Following project plans, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions
• Maintaining a clean and organized job site
• Following all company and OSHA safety regulations

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone
• Ability to read printed materials, signs and directions
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work area safely
• Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines
• The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme heat and cold temperatures
• While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris

• Seeing to perform job duties at close range, such as monitors or screens: Rarely
• Seeing to perform job duties at a distance, such as driving or operating equipment: Occasionally
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers: Constantly
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like: Occasionally
• Operating machinery and/or power tools: Occasionally
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment: Occasionally
• The ability to travel regionally or nationally: Never
