About the Role

The Boat Lead oversees production execution of assigned boat builds for all in-process work. The role serves as the primary point of contact between production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive results across departments and trades to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, procurement, quality, and logistics to meet program objectives.
• Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project details to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Resolve technical and operational issues impacting program execution.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the program.

This position has mid-level accountability for safe practices in fabrication across all trades and manages project schedules and budgets for the complete build of assigned boats. The role involves mid-level decision-making authority and responsibility for end results.

This position requires maintaining significant relationships and determining appropriate communication levels for various situations. The ability to influence decisions through respectful interactions, both internally and externally, is essential. Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of managing/supervising marine fabrication.
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in heavy manufacturing or heavy steel/aluminum fabrication environment.
• Written and verbal communication experience, including speaking before groups.
• Experience working productively with multiple trades and staff.

Physical Demands

Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced shop with moderate to loud noise levels. The role requires presence in production areas, including walking to and from job locations. The individual must frequently climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, and perform tasks involving bending, twisting, kneeling, walking, climbing, and reaching. The position may require working more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. Local and out-of-town travel (including air travel) may be required up to 5% of the time with notice. Work Environment

While in production areas, the individual will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dust, and odors.
