Board Operator

Responsibilities

• Run the control board for live and prerecorded programming
• Take FCC Transmitter readings
• Run Emergency Alert System (EAS) tests
• Maintain ensuring proper audio levels, transitions, and compliance with broadcast standards
• Load, schedule, and manage on-air programming content within the WideOrbit automation system
• Review audio content for technical accuracy, sound quality, and adherence to station and client specifications prior to airing
• Monitor and address issues with on-air programs for mistakes such as missed satellite cues, silence, etc.
• Screen live listener phone calls
• Edit programs from local clients/churches as well as station initiatives and programs
• Record daily voice tracks for all stations in the market as directed
• Provide production coverage and fill in for other production staff or station personnel as operational needs arise
• Auxiliary duties may include assisting with studio organization and routine maintenance of production areas

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of audio production and broadcast systems
• Familiarity with Wide Orbit automation system and FileZilla FTP software site preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Adobe Audition
• Vocal clarity and clear diction
• Attention to detail and proactive attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible schedule and availability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
