About Peer Minds
Peer Minds is a New York-based nonprofit dedicated to creating mental health spaces where culture is valued, honored, and integrated into the healing process. Our mission is to support Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian (MENASA) youth and adults through peer mentorship, culturally responsive wellness programming, and community connection.
Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings
- Provide strategic guidance and organizational oversight
- Serve as ambassadors for the organization within their professional and community networks
- Offer expertise, insight, and constructive feedback on organizational priorities
- Assist with identifying partnerships, resources, funding opportunities, and community connections
- Support fundraising and resource development efforts
- Uphold the mission, values, and best interests of the organization
Requirements
- Commitment to advancing culturally responsive mental health support
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Nonprofit leadership or governance
- Fundraising and philanthropy
- Finance, accounting, or financial oversight
- Mental health, healthcare, or public health
- Educational and youth development
- Community organizing and advocacy
- Business development or strategic partnerships
Qualifications
- Meaningful connections to MENASA communities
- Understanding of the importance of culturally responsive approaches to wellness, belonging, and community care

Pay
The compensation for Board of Directors Members is non-monetary and includes recognition and appreciation for their contributions to the organization.
Schedule
Board meetings are held quarterly, typically on the third Thursday of each quarter. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.
