Qualifications
- Development Prior experience with fundraising, donor relations, and event planning
- Experience with grant writing and application processes preferred
- Capital campaign and/or gala experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) preferred
- Animal welfare or nonprofit experience preferred
- Experience building donor pipelines and stewardship strategies
- Able to support fundraising strategy and revenue growth
Commitment
- Term Length - 2 years w/option to renew
- Time Commitment - 4-6 hours per month (depending on areas of expertise, committee assignments, etc.)
Board Support
- Show passion in furthering the mission of Ruff Start Rescue® and be informed about the organization’s mission, services, policies, and programs
- Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities by ensuring adequate financial resources; oversee financial and risk management
- Participate and support any capital campaigns, including making a personal annual financial Contribution and assist the organization in finding additional donation sources

The board meets monthly through Zoom and in person on a quarterly basis.
