About the Role

Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice offering a full range of advanced veterinary services. Our facility includes in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a helical 16-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound, and endoscopy. MVMC has well-staffed departments in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, Rehab and Acupuncture, supported by a team of emergency clinicians and criticalists. You’ll collaborate with specialists across disciplines in an innovative environment to deliver cutting-edge care to a well-educated client base.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing an internal medicine department, creating protocols, and setting the standard for exemplary care
• Treat a diverse caseload of internal medicine patients with support from the ECC and surgery departments
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff in a positive, team-driven approach to maximize patient care and client satisfaction
• Communicate with referring veterinarians
• Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training as appropriate

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Veterinary Internist
• Must obtain a State of Maine Veterinary License
