About the Role

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to support the Veteran community in the Salem, VA area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.

Pay

$190+ per hour.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Location

1970 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, VA.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Spend an estimated 90% of your time in direct patient care, providing clinical anesthesiology services for a wide range of procedures, including:
    • Cardiac surgery
    • Orthopedic joint replacement
    • Major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic, and ophthalmologic operations
    • Electroconvulsive therapy
    • Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal, and radiological suites
  • Provide primary coverage for:
    • All patients in the surgical intensive care unit
    • Short stay unit
    • Acute and chronic pain management services
    • Diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients
    • Emergency airway management
  • Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside (if not ambulatory) or in the clinic setting (if outpatient).
  • Spend an estimated 10% of your time on administrative duties not involving direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
  • If selected, candidates must complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
