About the role
This position involves assisting with the day-to-day supervision of assigned students and supporting classroom-wide Positive Behavior Supports. The role also includes providing staff training in ABA, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and related disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide training and supervision to teachers and teacher assistants in the implementation of behavior analytical interventions.
- Support teachers in developing IEP goals based on criterion referenced assessments like the ABLLS and VB-MAPPS.
- Monitor and troubleshoot student progress, analyze the learning environment, and provide evidence-based instructional suggestions.
- Analyze data and interpret trends for students' educational goals.
- Implement and monitor behavior data collection procedures for students on caseload.
- Provide training and ongoing supervision on the implementation of behavior support plans.
- Maintain records of all behavior data collection.
- Adhere to BCCS Behavior Support Procedural Guidelines.
- Respond to and supervise emergency interventions, completing necessary documentation and correspondence with families.
- Communicate with home-based providers to ensure consistent implementation of behavioral and educational strategies.
- Initiate and attend Interdisciplinary Team Meetings to discuss behavioral concerns and make recommendations.
- Participate in Parent Training Sessions as per student's IEP mandates.
- Host parent training groups and supervise individual training.
- Stay current with state and federal regulations regarding service delivery.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts at alternate sites.
Requirements
Requires a Master's or Master's degree in Psychology (TC 322) or Special Education (TC 323), Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and NYS Licensed Behavior Analyst certification. Knowledge of assessment and treatment through Applied Behavior Analysis teaching techniques in an education and/or residential setting is preferred.
Qualifications
Must have knowledge of ICF regulations and be able to lift and transfer students as needed.
Skills
Proficiency in reviewing standardized testing for assessing student ability levels, collaboration with clinical service providers, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
